Learn how to use authentic brand storytelling to establish better relationships with your customers and spread the word about your business.
Telling stories that inspire, inform and entertain has never been more important for business. Today’s customers don’t want a press release or a marketing pitch. Instead, they want well-crafted content that looks more like journalism than advertising. It’s never been more important to think creatively and strategically about what you’re putting out into the world.
Whether you’re an SME or a much larger organisation, companies have to be great storytellers on every platform, from official blogs to social media channels. This practical workshop will teach you how to deliver strong content, use it to expand your customer base and build business success through storytelling.
You’ll learn how to:
Spot compelling stories in your business and find the best people to tell them
Produce content that’s genuinely interesting – from the title through to the final sentence
Use interviews and quotes to bring out the human side of company documents like annual reports and press releases
Produce editorial schedules and content plans to utilise social media and other digital tools to promote brand stories
Find licensed materials like photos and videos for use alongside written copy
Leverage brand stories to secure additional and more meaningful press coverage
The course fee includes refreshments, VAT and booking/transaction charges.
About the tutor
This three-hour workshop is led by award-winning freelance journalist Lauren Razavi, who has worked as part of Google’s content strategy department, and writes for titles such as The Guardian, The Telegraph, The Atlantic, Harper’s Bazaar and Wired. She has also delivered workshops about freelance journalism and brand storytelling at the University of Cambridge and as part of Guardian Masterclasses.
Lauren’s success as a feature writer and foreign reporter led her to visit 30 countries before she’d graduated from university, and fund a master’s degree in creative writing entirely through freelance journalism. She was then headhunted to work as an editor for Google, before returning to Norwich to start her own company in 2016. Her clients today include Emirates, NatWest, Royal Bank of Canada and HP.
Flibl Masterclasses is a learning provider and communications consultancy based at Fuel Studios in Norwich. We run short courses on journalism, brand storytelling, business innovation and the future of work.
